Game On…GAME ON! The 1995 Nike Air Street Defender Street Hockey Sneaker Review!

Every time I see this shoe I’m reminded of Waynes World and the “game on” scene; not that anyone was wearing them, but its one of the few movies I have seen ever show street hockey (maybe I need to step my cinematic game up, who knows? :)) Today your getting a detailed look at another legendary sneaker, one of only a few sneakers from a major brand (i.e. Nike, Adidas, Reebok) dedicated to street hockey. Its called the Nike Air Street Defender. The colorway below is the Ottawa Senators colorway (for the Alexei Yashin team at the time) This was a high top shoe, with plenty of support and protection from those flailing hockey sticks. The tongue looked like a hockey net, the all around look of the shoe was that of a pair of skates without the blades. There was visible air in the midsole, rubber on the toe area, an NHL plastic patch on the back area of the sneakers and label stitched on the inside of the shoe to let you know this shoe was the real deal “officially licensed” by the NHL. Comfort wise they were slightly on the heavy side but pretty comfy, they run true to size. Below are pictures from the DeFY. New York Photo Vault, and be sure to check out that classic scene from Wayne’s World Below, game on!
