The Shoe That Can Do It All: The Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ 2022 Retro

When the Nike Air Trainer 1 released back in 1987 it was a game changer.  By now you already know most of the stories surrounding the shoe’s legacy -epecially the stories involving John McEnroe, Andre Agassi and Bo Jackson-. But many don’t realize how many re-issues -or similar drops- there have been of this particular colorway over the past 35 years beginning way back in 1990.

By the year 2000 when – a long with the Scream Green Huarache- they re issued for a third time it seemed as though the love affair most mainstream buyers had for the shoe had faded as this shoe showed up at outlets in DROVES and extremely cheap -think 10-20 dollars cheap-.  As the years went on and more footwear enthusiasts showed up a small group of die hard’s emerged from behind their desktops to declare their love for this shoe in this colorway and with that, sucked in many other collector’s around the globe.  Fast forward to 2022 -and past several releases since 2000 including an SB and a low top- and here we are with what is supposed to be a remastered release of sorts.  Complete in a color shade the appears closer to the OG and a shape that leaves much to be desired the Trainer 1 Chlorophyll is slated to release stateside later this month with Europes release having already passed.  Do like Gary Shandling would and go cop a set today
