Originally released in 1987, the Trainer 1 was a revolutionary shoe not just for Nike but for the entire industry.  An all purpose shoe that was worn by some of the worlds most elite athletes both in and away from their professions you can dig up photos of guys like Andre Agassi, Michael Jordan, McEnroe and many more sporting this legendary cross trainer.

The first retro of this shoe in this colorway showed up waaaaaaaay back in 1990 and has seen sporadic retro releases since.  While its a little unusual to see them released under Nike’s SB division its not the first time for the model which has seen SB releases going back to the early 2000’s. Still, purists might be a little turned off by the SB branding on the tongue but will probably enjoy SB internal upgrades. No word on a stateside release as of yet but if you weren’t able to snag a pair overseas (or don’t want to pay resell) then hang on for release info that is sure to come and while you wait, check out the original in store commercial for the Trainer 1 below!
