THE NIKE AIR MAX 180 OG “ULTRAMARINE” IS BACK FOR 2018 BUT HAVE THEY GOTTEN ANY CLOSER TO THE OG?

Becareful folks, Nike is going for the jugular this year.  This February the highly coveted OG color way of the Air Max 180 will be back for a 5th time.  Originally released back in 1991 at one time there was talk that due to a lawsuit won by Avia that this shoe would never see the light of day again, but in 2004 Nike surprised everyone when they dropped this shoe in all its OG glory (albeit with a smaller air unit than most remembered from the initial release).  They would go on to release them again in 2005 as part of the History Of Air Pack, then again in 2009 and yet again in 2013 by way of a VTG release that featured a pre yellowed midsole.   Welp, here we are again as you will have another chance to score them  for 2018 but one has to really start to question why in 14 years can’t Nike make these closer to the original than this.  With all this talk of remastered retro’s it really cannot be that difficult.  Why is the Air Unit so small compared to the OG? Why are so many shoes these days curving inward towards the ankle, and why are the mesh panels off? Check out the side by side comparison from this retro to the 2018 and if “your body is ready” then start stacking for next month, retail will be $130 USD.
