Was This Brooks Basketball Shoe The Precursor To The Nike Air Flight Huarache?

Gangsta, lit, Swaggadocious whatever your here today gone tomorrow slang preference is one things for sure, if you never considered looking at a Brooks basketball shoe (not even the Brooks Highlight) then these might change all that. Released sometime in the late 80’s, the Brooks Statement sure made one heck of a statement (see what I did there?). Looking more like an unreleased prototype and they featured Hydro Flow (which appeared to be a direct response to Nike Air) and “special features” like a positive lateral transfer spine for correct pronational alignment, a kinetic wedge and a Brooks patented entry system (which was to provide for a more custom fit). The big story here however, is that these looked an awful lot like an early non Nike release of the Nike Air Flight Huarache. Take a trip back below, vote on whether you think Nike took some inspiration for their Flight Huarache Basketball shoe from these and if you want them add these to your collection now via eBay.
