L.A. Gear was in a weird place in 1994. They were finally settling into what seemed like their own look but were not doing so hot in the market. Their hikers were ok but as far as sports were concerned? Not so much. Still, it didn’t mean there weren’t some clean designs coming from the company and the excel pro was one of them. They featured garment leather uppers with nylex lining, molded phylon midsole with foam arch support, encapsole air bars, EVA sock liner and a rubber outsole. Retail was 50 USD and you can probably secure a pair today cheaper than that if you can find them.
