The Jordan XVIII was a shoe that at the time, was taken for granted. It was relatively plain and didn’t really have much of a draw to it for the consumer that was looking to really stand out (atleast at that time). For example the XVI featured a shroud, visible air and everyone’s favorite, patent leather. The XVII (while relatively plain as well) came cleverly packaged in a briefcase and a record high for a series shoe at $200 USD. The XVIII? A towel (and for the suede a brush and towel). It was also a shoe thats prone to looking beat the hell up very quickly. The leather is very soft and therefore creases like no ones business. The white outsole of the white colorway’s is a dirt magnet, and even the black suede version creases fairly quickly. Towards the end of the shoes release Nike outlets were FILLED with the 18 in every single colorway. The one color that was the least likely to looking beat after more than a few wears? The black/grey lows. Since the shoe was black and featured an additional synthetic material on the upper that the high’s did not have (also minus the lace cover) the shoe was less prone to creasing and visible dirt. If you stay on your eBay search you can even pick a pair up for retail or below with prices in the 100-200 dollar range. Take a trip back to 2003 above!
