Revisit: The 2000 Release Of The Nike Air Jordan VI Retro + Olympic

1

I still remember the first release of the Olympic VI. The world itself a much different place, life seemed a little more carefree, just a little. Retro’s came and went and there was minimal hype surrounding releases since the masses hadn’t yet flocked to the scene. A long comes the Olympic VI. These were a relatively limited run of the VI and the first time in this colorway. When they dropped there was hope we might see the carmines but that wouldn’t come for several years down the line. Nope, what we had here was a colorway that no one really asked for with no Nike Air branding. Either way it didn’t deter from the fact that these were one of the earliest retro’s to stir up a lot of hype. Re-sale values climbed fairly quick for this shoe and surprisingly when they re-retro’d in 2012 the hype wasn’t as strong as its re-sale prices the past decade + would have suggested. Still we look back at the first release and remember a retro that was good quality, very comfy, and still wonder what if the Carmines had released that year instead of these? Things that make you go hmmmmmmm, take a trip back above!
