When Fall of 1994 rolled around the last thing on my mind was spending $95.00 (5 dollars less than the previous years model) for an Etonic running shoe. Nope, it was all about Chucks, Van’s Lampin’s and Pro Leather Ox’s. Fast forward 19 years later to today and Etonic is very much on my mind which brings us Etonics best technical model at the time the V02. For this particular year they dropped “StableAir” from the name of the shoe (see the Etonic StableAir V02 1993) and according to Runnersworld improved upon the shoes fit by using a one-piece upper and increased rearfoot cushioning with a bigger air unit. The lacing system was also new as Etonic connected it to the support system in the arch area so that if you pulled the laces up the entire upper would tighten. On the hunt for a pair today? Good luck, not to say there aren’t some deadstock pairs stocked away in some obscure mom and pop shop’s stock room but your chances of finding them are slim. Best bet? As always (for now) eBay would be your best bet to track down a set and you could expect to pay around 65-125 USD. Take a trip back to 1994 above!
