If you follow DeFY. your no stranger to our whining and complaining until we get the retro’s a lot of us dream of. Well we’re back at it, this time with a taste for some Flight 89 High’s and Solo Flights. Released in 1989 (hence the title Flight 89 High, duh) the Nike Air Flight came in both low top and high top versions. The Solo flight was the take down model with no visible air and less plastics than the Flight 89 High. In 1992, the Flight 89 saw its first retro this time with a strap near the midfoot region in low top only and on the feet of John Stockton. Eight years later (and several months after the release of the 99 Jordan IV retro) the Flight 89 made a return again this time in its original form and minus the awkward looking strap of the 92 retro release. Once again, we were only offered the low top version. For over 13 years since, the Flight 89 low has been retro’d continuously in hundreds of colorway’s but we still haven’t seen a retro of the 89 Flight High top nor the take down model, its sleek light cousin, the Solo Flight. Worn by everyone from Hip Hop royalty to actors both of these shoes deserve to see the light of day again.
