So you think Nike ID studio was a first of its kind? Think again.Hersey is a brand that many in the sneaker world (outside of die hard runners) may have never heard of. According to their website “Hersey Custom Shoes began in 1982 when Bart Hersey (a former factory manager at New Balance) converted his barn into a family run shoe factory. Three years later his product was rated the #1 Running Shoe in the World by Runners World Magazine.” In 2010 a gentleman by the name of Stephen Keoseian took over the company (having been able to spend time working with Bart to learn his skills and secrets for creating quality and comfy shoes). Just considering that most running shoes during that time were no more than 70 bucks and these custom hand made running shoes carried a 150.00 price tag is enough to get those eyes opening real wide. Luckily if you want to experience just what this shoe is all about you can still get your own custom running shoe from Hersey. Check out the 1983 release above and head on over to HERSEY to learn more.
