As any child sneaker addict I spent a sizable amount of time staring at other peoples kicks. Growing up during the golden age of footwear design didn’t help any and while you would assume with Nike’s dominance today that the pavement king was Nike Air it was actually quite the opposite. Sure, from 1987 on up Nike’s presence only grew but during that same time period Reebok was as a dominant presence and few shoes were more popular than the BB4600. Although a relatively simple design, the BB4600 of the late 80’s featured very soft leather, great ankle support, and that beautiful large REEBOK font with the small colorful British flag right next to it. For me, if one shoe could define the 80’s it would be the BB4600. While doing the usual vintage hunting I stumbled upon this 1988 episode of Double Dare for which the official shoe was non other than? Thats right, the BB4600. Take a trip back to 1988 above, check out me sporting them in 1988 and make sure to check out the episode below!
