Although the first official retro release of the Jordan IV was in 1999, samples started showing up on the internet back in June/July of 1998. Before we even saw a retro of the what would be the 99 IV with “Nike Air” on the back these mysterious looking Jordan IV’s with a Jumpman on the back started surfacing. They looked good, but I remember thinking why not release them like the originals. Well, I got my wish and the rest is history, but those mysterious Jordan IV’s never went into production and instead we received what would turn out to be the “Columbia blue IV’s” (which flopped hard at the time, full size runs in the 30-40 dollar range). Nearly 13 years later, and those samples seemed to have been completely ignored. Well, its time to bring them into production. Take a trip back to the summer of 98 with this photo of the rare Jordan IV sample and be sure to cast your vote!
