Originally designed as a badminton sneaker for the B.F. Goodrich company in 1935, Converse purchased the trademark rights to his shoes in the early 1970’s (CHECK OUT ONE OF THE ADS FROM B.F.GOODRICH HERE). Fast forward to 2011 and this shoe is still going strong. Notice the how the person is dressed sitting on top of the truck, dark colors, and what looks like a flannel shirt typical of the time period. Now check out this 1973 ad for the same shoe HERE. Its great to see how advertising evolved for a shoe thats been a staple since 1935. Take a trip back to the era of grunge, Beavis and Butthead, east coast vs west coast, and MJ on the courts.
