Its not often you see these shoes, but DeFY. was able to track down a set of these in good wearable condition. The King Of Pop was paid 10 mil to sign an endorsement deal with LA Gear that ultimately blew up in their face. With Nike dominating, and Reebok not far behind LA gear was said to be 3rd in total sales revenue behind both companies when these shoes dropped. With Michael gone, the chances of these shoes seeing a re-issue are slim to none (we have a poll going on HERE and there is another person with a petition to bring these back). So, were telling you now is the time to pick up a pair of these if your in the market for them or a MJ fan. Now, if your a guy you might be a little reluctant to be wearing a shoe with buckles on it and we don’t blame you but, they do look good, especially with jeans. The quality on these was very good, the insoles are very very comfortable (to the point that you don’t want to take them off). The leather is really soft, and the fit nice and secure. We recommend you go a half size from your normal shoe size as these run small. The buckles across mid foot adjust by velcro and studs are placed thoughtfully throughout the shoe, laces have metal tips and the laces also use metal so that when you lace the shoes up the laces are even. Michael Jackson’s LA Gear logo is is embroidered on the tongue. Now, I don’t know if its just my pair, but the bottoms of these actually feels a little slippery (you will be able to see from photo’s that the tread is fully in tact). Overall if your a die hard collector of sneakers that can appreciate all interesting shoes from the past or a collector of Michael Jackson memoribilia then these are the shoes for you.
