Found this old article a few years back (originates in the UK). I am aware that people still get robbed for their sneakers today, but most people walk around with their expensive sneakers and have little to no issues at all. Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s you were a prime target. People getting robbed and killed for 8 ball jackets, and expensive sneakers was common.
