One of the biggest flops in “Retro History” this shoe had so much potential but was a huge let down. When word broke that the ATC III would see a retro, their was excitement throughout the sneaker community. When the finished product finally started showing up on forums across the net the mood turned bleak. Gone was the flaming tennis ball off the back of the shoe, the speckles on the midsole and the nylon area around the ankle, and they decided to paint the area around the air unit purple for whatever reason no one knows. The details are what made this shoe, and the lack of details is what ultimately broke the shoe. Discounted several times over, people had difficulty selling these for 20 dollars at one point. They are still a nice shoe to look at, but lets be real they are just a sad sad version of the one of the best shoes Nike ever produced. Nike should give these the retro treatment again, however after the horrible sales of the first one it probably won’t happen (although the reason they flopped was their own doing not the because the shoe is not highly sought after). If your in the market for these now is a good time to buy as they are still relatively cheap. They fit snug so go a half size up. Below are pictures from the DeFY. New York Photo vault enjoy.
