These sneakers are so old they could be your granddaddy. LITERALLY. All jokes aside this was a very interesting find, the 1949 issue of the Pro Keds Line. At 28 years old its pretty interesting to know your putting your feet into a brand new pair of sneakers from the 40’s, especially coming from a legendary company like Keds. They felt relatively comfortable for casual walking, and the canvas used was soft and thick keeping your foot feeling much more protected from the elements than (for arguments sake) a Chuck Taylor would today. They fit true to size, but I must say they felt a little more flimsy than a chuck taylor (less substantial). Anyhow below are pictures from the DeFY. New York Photo Vault.
