photo-main

Theres a dance movement going on in Brook-nam (or as the outsiders like to call it Brooklyn) and its called “Flexing”. These dancers push their bodies past their physical limits to express themselves with the hopes that one day they will make it big. Which brings us to the documentary titled Flex Is Kings. This independent film (which is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2013) was filmed over a two year period and documents the trials and tribulations of a few dancers from East New York Brooklyn. The filmmakers ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in April 2012 (having used that funding to edit the film and submit to festivals) and are back for a second Kickstarter campaign, this time to finance finishing costs. What are finishing costs you ask? They include: Color correction, sound mix, music rights etc. Brooklyn-based HICKIES is supporting Flex Is Kings with a pack of Hickies for every Kickstarter backer that donates $60.00 but theres a bunch of other gifts for different pledge amounts. Check out the trailer below and head on over to the Flex Is Kings Kickstarter Campaign .
