Revisit: Nike’s ‘Jump Sock’ The Nike Air Flightposite II 2000

When I first laid eyes on the Nike Air Flightposite II it was love at first sight. Unlike a lot of sneakers it was the solid black color way that won my heart looking like something out of Batmans closet. This futuristic (but reserved looking) shoe retailed at $160.00, was available in sizes 6-18 and featured what was described by Nike as hyper thin (2mm) fully integrated Foamposite construction with a dynamic fit lycra full length inner sleeve, external forefoot shorud construction and a translucent toe reinforcement piece. For the midsole you got a PU encased Pylon, internal sock plate and Zoom Air Units in the forefoot and heel. The outsole featured a solid rubber with forefoot flex grooves, exposed full length carbon fiber midfoot support/spring plate all in a package that was described as a shrink wrapped full articulated ‘jump sock’ for the court engineered to enhance acceleration and elevation. One word, BOSS. With the first and last Nike Air Flightposite II retro dropping in 2010, its about time for another re-issue of this timeless classic, take a trip back below!
