To be perfectly honest, the retro wasn’t that bad but the original it was not. The original 1989 Jordan IV in military blue was the odd ball out in a very good way. Its sometimes difficult to make out in pictures you see on the internet or even the originals some 21 years later, but the military blue really did illuminate on the shoe. The retro’s were pretty good, that is until you put them on your feet. I’m not quite sure who thought it would be a great idea to alter the shape of these (compared to the 04/05 Laser IV retro’s) and make the heel tab long enough to cut your ankle, the toe box to long, use rubber instead of plastic on the straps and heel, all while shortening the height of the shoe. But they should have looked to the 99 retro for design cues. Since wearable pairs of the OG’s are next to impossible to find these days the retro’s suffice in the meantime.
