As the 90’s came to an end Nike drifted away from Rock N’ Roll Tennis and more towards smooth Jazz Tennis. Gone were the bright vibrant colors and aggressive styling Nike instead opted for a more futuristic plain look which was cool but kinda not. At $100 the Air Zoom beyond plus had all the goodies you’d look for in a tennis shoe like synthetic, leather and mesh for the upper, a phylond midsole with visible Zoom Air (can’t go wrong there) in the heel and forefoot and an outsole with full length DRC with external midfoot shank. Visually they looked good to although never quite capturing the magic of earlier shoes with Agassi at the forefront. Take a trip back with these classics below!
