Banana Republic Gets An Indie Makeover With Their New Flatiron Store

Banana Republic debuted their new Flatiron store on fifth avenue Thursday night to scores of smiling faces complete with mini hamburgers and a dope live performance by Tove Lo.  Overseen by Marissa Webb (Banana Republics creative director) the company is hoping to reintroduce the brand to the fashion world with a newer fresher image complete with designs you’re accustomed to seeing from smaller luxury brands.  This is the first store of its kind by Banana Republic and one small move in the right direction according to Webb .  The question is,  will it be enough to shake its upscale Gap-ish image? I’d say yes and here is why.   In the past, Banana Republic  has offered more mature designs, that while clean, didn’t quite cut it for a younger trendier consumer.  That’s all changed and it ultimately had to.  The bonus? Prices are reasonable while quality is still there.  Cuts and prints are bang up to date and all under a roof that rivals brands that push clothes at a much higher price point.   If you have the opportunity go check out the store now at 105 5th ave New York, New York
