Is The 2014 Air Jordan Black/Infrared VI In Your Future? What To Know

Outside of seasoned veterans in the sneaker game, a lot of people may not know that this is the third retro and fourth release for this iconic OG colorway of the Jordan VI.  Originally released in 1991 (with Nike Air on the heel),

the black infrared VI returned in 2000 complete with Nike Air on the heel but lacking the reflective underlay.

Ten years later  the black infrared VI would return but this time as part of a pack, with no Nike Air branding and an almost velvet like nubuck upper that completely changed the look and feel of the original for many (there was also a black/varsity red version that released that same year).

Fast forward to this years release and you get a retro that’s very close to the original.  Complete with a shade of infrared that is hands down the closest to the original hue coupled with a reflective underlay, this retro gets closer to the original than the 2010 version but lacks the Nike Air branding we all love and miss from the OG and 2000 release.  Which brings us to decision time. Like the white cement III brand Jordan could bring these back with Nike Air on the heel at anytime.  For many its a no brainer, scoop them come release date and think about it later.  For others it will be a wait and see type of situation.   What will your decision be? Either way be prepared this Friday and check out the images below Via  Nike.com
