Schools In Session: Internet Sneaker Culture Part 14 Air 23

Annnnnnnnd we’re back. For part 13 we looked back at Philips Web Page and for part 14 we are looking back at Air 23. I remember stumbling upon this great site in late 99/very early 2000. The site featured mainly Nike and Brand Jordan but also Reebok and FILA. There was a lot of stock photo’s gathered from other big blogs and online stores as well as release dates, photos of fake shoes and a section titled “Rare Air”. Rare Air was supposed to be filled with rare samples but it was mainly fakes that hadn’t been verified as such. As far as who was behind the site that I don’t know but what I could gather is that its possibly someone from the south or midwest. His nickname was TankDog and his favorite rap artists were Master P, C-Murder, Juvenile, Big Tymers and Mystikal so you draw your own conclusion as far as geography. Regardless, this individual left a permanent imprint in the history of Internet sneaker culture that will not be forgotten. Take a trip back with some fliks from the site below!
