Jeter Rareness At Its Best: A Better Look At The FILA Derek Jeter Mid 1998

With Derek Jeter officially retired I felt now was as good a time as any to go into a little more detail on the Jeter Mid (Jeter’s sig shoe with FILA from 1998). A few years ago I showcased the FILA Jeter Mid but in only one colorway, below you will find three previously unseen colorway’s of this rarity. With an original retail price of $74.95, the Jeter mid was reasonably priced and sleek looking. They were available in sizes 6.5 through 15 (good news for you big foot fella’s trying to track down a set) and featured FILA’s 2A technology (2A features cylinders that compress to absorb shock and lessen impact while maintaining stability) with CMR in the midsole, full grain toe, vamp overlay and lower eyestay. While the relationship didn’t last long it has nonetheless solidified itself in sneaker history as one of the most noticeable endorsements in FILA’s history and a must have if you collect FILA, Jeter sneakers or any shoe for that matter. Grab a tissue and check out some fliks below plus a bonus question Jeter was asked back in 1998 during an fan Q&A hosted by FILA!
