GE, Android Homme and JackThreads celebrate the 45th Anniversary of NASA’s moon landing with The Missions Sneaker

Yesterday marked the 45th Anniversary of NASA successfully putting mankind on the moon, an accomplishment that would mark the pinnacle of technology and materials innovation for the time. To celebrate, GE, Android Homme and JackThreads teamed up to create a limited edition moon boot sneaker called ‘The Missions’. Numbered to 100 pairs, this shoe pays homage to GE who provided GE silicon rubber on the original boots worn by astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and Michael Collins which allowed the astronauts to moonwalk in extreme temperatures and conditions.

The Missions feature goodies like stabilized Carbon Fiber, Thermoplastic Rubber, Hydrophobic Coating and 3M Scotchlite Reflective material.  Unfortunately for those that either didn’t know or forgot about the release they sold out in under 7 minutes on Jackthreads yesterday so your best bet to grab a pair in the near future will probably be eBay.
