Hellooooooo Brooklyn! The Brooklyn Work Shop is running a kickstarter for a super durable skate shoe and have enlisted the help of designer Michael Ditullo (currently the chief design officer of Sound United) to make sure it was done right. Michael spent nearly a decade developing several product collections at Nike Inc. including two of its subsidiaries Converse and Brand Jordan so you know this wasn’t going to be just fun and games. With Michaels help and countless hours testing, the Brooklyn Work Shop set out to remedy the weak points of standard vulcanized shoes and what they came up with is a mid top shoe called the Elby.
The Elby consists of a special recipe for a material that can retain it’s grip and softness while raising the bar for abrasion resistance.
