L.A. Gear Cross Connection Cross Training Sneaker 1988-1989

Can you guess which Nike shoe this design was inspired by? If you said the trainer III then you are correct. released in 1988 the L.A. Gear Cross Connection training shoe featured: A removable polyurethane sockliner (which was washable), notched achilles tendon pad, padded tongue, soft nylex and cambrelle lining, nylon eyelets, forefoot stabilizing brace, full grain leather upper with extended heel counter wrap, full board lasted, polyurethane footframe, polyurethane midsole with “Airstream” insert, partial cupsole, flat outsole pattern with beveled edges, forefoot pivot point and two color, non marking, abrasion resistant outsole. Overall, L.A. Gear did a pretty decent job interpreting the trainer III’s design and making it their own. Don’t get me wrong, a trainer III it is not but still a nice looking shoe (note the medicine ball colorway). Take a trip back to the 88-89 season above!
