Nike Air Max Plus Original Hyper Blue 1998 Tuned Air Review!

I remember receiving the latest Eastbay catalog and as I turned to the last page saw “Tuned Air” the first Gen Nike Air Max Plus. It was love at first sight. One of the most notable colorways is the hyper blue colorway. The original Nike Air Max Plus was and still is one of the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. The 2003 retro wasn’t bad either, but after 2003 the quality and comfort of the Air Max Plus first gen line became as
comfortable to wear as a chuck taylor. When wearing these you will notice you feel taller probably due in part to the thick air unit through out the
shoe. The shoe runs narrow so you will have to go a half size up The mesh used on the Originals is similar to that used on the Original Air max 90. One noticeable wearing issue I noticed with the shoe is the clear plastic plate on the front of the shoe. Over time it tends to get scuffed up and foggy. These shoes also tend to become non wearable so becareful wearing them worn or new. If you have a choice between the Original and the 2003 retro go for the original, it looks better although for the 03 retro they smartened up and put a blue tint on the front plastic. Nike also released a 360 fusion version that was nice. Below are pictures from the DeFY. New York Vault of the originals enjoy and happy hunting!(First pic courtesy of Eastbay.com)
